BUL FC and SC Villa were triumphant on the FUFA Super 8 tournament return as they edged Vipers SC and Maroons FC 1-0 and 2-1, respectively.

Samuel Kayongo Ssekamatte‘s lone goal at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Thursday was enough to guide BUL past the Venoms.

On the other hand, Hakim Mutebi and new signing Denis Ojera had Villa squeeze through to the semi-finals of this year’s Super 8 edition.

Hadadi Kambugu netted the only consolation for the Prison Warders at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

The current edition of the tournament is the first in over four years, with the previous edition coming in 2019.

At Njeru, between BUL and Vipers, the biggest highlight saw the latter have two goals scrapped as they were both deemed offside.

New Vipers’ signing Awisone Fumador thought he had grabbed his first in the team’s colours in the 19th but it was cancelled, before Abdu Lumala had his own denied by the officials over the same.
