  • KPA VC 3-1 Nemostars

 [25-21, 25-22, 22-25, 23-25]

Nemostars Volleyball Club are out of the Africa Club Championship after a 3-1 loss to Kenya Port Authority (KPA) in the Round of 16 at BK Arena, Kigali on Wednesday.

It was their poorest performance of the tournament, and it came when it mattered most.

Nemostars started well, opening a 10-6 lead in the first set.

But errors crept in, missed serves, weak reception, and poor defending at the net. KPA took advantage and turned it around to win 25-21.

The Ugandan side responded in the second set, building a strong 20-11 lead. They nearly let it slip but held on to win 25-22 and level the match.

Coach made a change, bringing on Mark Omara for Frederick Mujinya. The youngster added energy and handled the moment well.

The third set was tight, with both sides matching each other point for point. But once again, Nemostars struggled on reception. KPA edged it 25-22.

In the fourth, Nemostars fought but could not stop KPA’s attack. They lost 25-23, ending their run in the tournament.

Nemostars now shift focus to placement matches, falling short of improving on their best finish of sixth place.
