Home Basketball National Basketball League City Oilers forward Luak in a juicy Georgia move

City Oilers’ forward Ruai Luak featured in his last game for the National Basketball League defending champions as they beat UPDF Tomahawks on Wednesday at Lugogo.

Luak is set to leave the country for Georgia where he is bound to sign a professional contract and pursue studies.

“Yes, I am going to Tbilisi, Georgia,” Luak was quoted by journalist Brian Kawalya.

The move has reportedly been orchestrated by Rosette International Group Limited, a sports agency that deals with Professional and upcoming talent.

“It is a camp that has been organised for about 30 days that will train us and prepare for Euro basketball, and then I hope to start my pro basketball in October,” he added.

Luak leaves City Oilers after less than two years. He joined them having won the Division One Silver medal with Nam Blazers in 2019.

Before that, he was at Kibuli SS under the respected and renown former star now coach Henry Malinga.

He is the latest player to leave Oilers for a stint abroad since Jonah Otim left for United States in 2018.

Jimmy Enabu and Tonny Drilleba put up 24 and 21 points respectively as the Oilers staged a strong second quarter to overcome UPDF Tomahawks for their 13th win the season.
