Uganda Cranes left back Mustafa Kizza has left Portuguese outfit FC Arouca after reaching a mutual understanding, six months after joining them.

The unpleasant developments were confirmed by the club on Tuesday via their various social media platforms.

“Futebol Clube de Arouca and player Mustafa Kizza reached an agreement for the friendly termination of the contract,” a post read.

“We wish you (Kizza) future sporting and personal successes,” the post concluded. He leaves Portugal having failed to master a single game there.

Kizza joined Arouca in July 2022 on a three-year contract in a deal that excited Ugandans as the club features in the Portuguese top tier division, which is among the best ten in the world.

Kizza previously played for Montreal Impact in the Major League Soccer in the United States of America and KCCA FC, where he began his career.

He joins a host of so many other Ugandan stars that have failed to make it beyond borders, despite their undoubted talents.

The latest on the list are; Allan Okello, Muhammad Shaban, Patrick Kaddu, Abdul Lumala and Moses Waiswa who all struggled on the various occasions they made it to the professional ranks.
