The Crested Cranes’ lethal striker Fazila Ikwaput’s move to Tanzania’s female football club Simba Queens is in the final bend.
The 2022 Cecafa winner with Crested Cranes traveled to Tanzania earlier this week to meet the Queens board to finalise the deal.
The Ugandan International left Cyprus side, Omonia Nicosia on 29th April 2023 and is set to pen down a 2-year contract with the Queens.
Fazila until recently has been playing for Omonia in Cyprus a team she joined from Lady Doves after a fine campaign as the league joint top scorer, Cecafa top scorer and MVP, and Cecafa winner.
Queens have been with a gap in front following the departure of Opa Clement and they hope to replace her with Ikwaput.
The defending champions are currently second in the Serengeti Elite women’s league, one point behind JKT Queens.
They will represent Tanzania in Caf Champions League Cecafa Zonal Qualifiers in August this year hosted by Uganda.
Queens will be looking to win the regional tournament and go to the continent for the second time after doing so last year.
