FUFA trusts referee Oloya with Uganda Cup final match

Federation of Uganda Football Association has named International referee William Oloya as the centre referee for the Uganda Cup final between Vipers and Bul FC.

The long awaited encounter of the coveted Cup will be played on Sunday the 12th of June at the Masindi Stadium.

Oloya has been involved in a number of high profile games on the continent, and was on Thursday (June 9) the fourth official at Kitende as Mali beat South Sudan 3-1 in the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers.

He featured in the 2019 Uganda Cup final where he was the Fourth official as Proline FC beat Soltilo Bright Stars in spot kicks.

Previously, Kenyan referee Oliver Omondi Odhiambo was the centre referee in 2014/15 final when SC Villa beat KCCA 3-0 at Namboole.

  • Brian Miiro Nsubuga was in the centre in 2016 when Vipers beat Onduparaka at Nakivubo.
  • Ali Sabila was the man in the 2017 final at Nakivubo as KCCA beat Paidha Black Angels.
  • Mashood Ssali was the centre refere in 2018 final when KCCA beat Vipers.
  • Ali Sabila was in the centre as Proline won their maiden Uganda Cup in Masaka in 2019.
  • In 2020, George Olemu was in the center as Vipers humiliated BUL FC 8-1 at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
