Futsal Super League: Matchday 17 Review

Matchday 17 of the Futsal Super League was a thrilling display of goals, skills, and entertainment.

Kicking off the action at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena on Thursday, Park FC asserted their dominance at the top of the table with a commanding 6-1 victory over rivals FC Luzira.

Michael Abura and Abasi Muluya each netted twice, while Samuel Kalyango and Anthony Africa also found the back of the net for the unbeaten leaders who won their 15th game of the season.

Arafat Ssentogo scored a consolation goal for Luzira as they suffered their third consecutive defeat to Park.

With this win, Park extended their lead to 47 points, putting them nine points ahead of Kisenyi FC, their closest challengers.

Other Matches on Thursday

On the same day, Kisenyi FC secured a dominant 6-0 win over Edgars Youth Programme, with Julius Kassaga bagging a hat-trick and goals from AbdiKarim Abdullahi Ahmed (2) and Marvin Atengeka completing the rout.

In another Thursday fixture, fourth-placed Lubaga Grameen staged a comeback to defeat Kabowa Dream Team 5-2, with two goals each from Micheal Lubowa and Abdulkarim Omar.

Friday’s Matches

The excitement continued on Friday with Kisugu FC emerging as the big winners of the day, rallying to a 7-3 victory over KJT FC. Kenneth Majara was the star of the show, scoring six of Kisugu’s seven goals and closing in on the golden boot race.

Majara now sits third on the top goal scorer’s log with 25 goals scored in just his nine games.

In the other Friday fixtures, Nansana ASKA returned to winning form with a 4-1 victory over Kawempe, while Aidenal narrowly edged past Mengo City 1-0 thanks to Sulaiman Mutyaba‘s lone goal.

The Futsal Super League action will resume next week with Matchday 18, featuring three games each on Thursday and Friday evenings.
