Former Wakiso Giants playmaker Ibrahim ‘Baba’ Kasule’s meteoric rise took another big leap as he got promoted from New York Red Bulls 2 to the senior team.

This was a reward for his consistently impressive performances with New York Red Bulls’ feeder side.

“New York Red Bulls have signed New York Red Bulls II midfielder Ibrahim Kasule to a short-term agreement,” the club announced on Saturday.

Kasule was thus available for selection as the New York Red Bulls edged New England Revolution 2-1 in the wee hours of Sunday at the Red Bull Arena.

The midfielder leads the club’s scoring charts with six goals and three assists and has led NYRB II to fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

He has scored all six goals in his last seven matches and ranks third among active MLS NEXT Pro midfielders in goals scored this season.

Kasule only joined the US-based outfit in March, after his maiden move to Turkey in January fell through.
