Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, who also doubles at KCCA FC’s Patron is displeased with the team’s unpleasant performances in the recent past.

Lukwago made his anger known during the club’s unveiling of their new shirt sponsor where he warned the head coach, Morley Byekwaso and his entire team.

“What is happening on the field of play is intolerable and we are calling on the players and the technical team to up their game,” the rather bitter politician stated.

“We don’t entertain mediocrity and sloppiness so the lackluster performance should be a pointer to several changes that can be made.”

The 13-time champions finished the 2021/22 campaign in second place in the 16-team Uganda Premier League, 18 points behind eventual winners Vipers SC.

“Last season our performance was not the best and the start of the new season has also not been good so everyone associated with the club must pull up their socks,” Lukwago warned.

This season, Byekwaso’s charges have played twice, edging Wakiso Giants FC 3-2 before losing 3-1 to Arua Hill SC.
