KCCA FC co-coach Jackson Magera has called for focus and a strong response as his side looks to bounce back from defeat when they face Kitara FC on Friday at Lugogo.

After a difficult run, including a loss to SC Villa, Magera kept his message simple; be ready and stay sharp.

“We are okay, we are ready. We have organised ourselves,” he said after training.

“We must stay focused in every moment when we have the ball and when we don’t. Our transitions have to be effective.”

KCCA go into the game under pressure, sitting seven points behind the leaders. A win would cut that gap to four and keep them in the title race.

Magera knows the standards at the club leave little room for slip-ups.

“This is a big club. We can’t go two or three games without winning,” he said. “We are determined to work hard and get the three points.”

He will, however, have to deal with a few concerns. Enock Walusimbi, Derrick Nsibambi and Anukani Bright are doubts, leaving the technical team to make late decisions on the lineup.

The game has gained more weight after Vipers drew 1-1 with Villa earlier in the week. Victory for either side would tighten the race at the top.

There is also a familiar edge to the contest, with several players set to face former teammates, adding extra motivation on both sides.

KCCA will look to Saidi Mayanja and Ivan Ahimbisibwe for goals, while Kitara will rely on on-form George Ssenkaaba, Edson Agondeze and Emmanuel Wasswa.
