It was a low-key weekend as the conclusion to the First Round of the 2022 Masaza Cup nears, with only twelve goals scored in nine games.

A huge six games had none or just one goal involved while only two had three goals, yet there were five victories on the weekend.

In Lyantonde, Allan Ofoyiroth’s lone strike was enough for visitors, Gomba to sink Kabula (1-0).

In another away victory, Busiro were 1-0 winners at Busujju, with Jimmy Kalema the hero.

Meanwhile, Buddu, who had failed to win the past two games, managed a 1-0 win at home (Masaka Recreational Stadium) against rivals Ssingo, courtsey of star player, Bruno Bunyaga.

2021 runners-up, Buwekula picked up an impressive 3-0 win over hosts Butambala, thanks to a Sharaf Mutebi brace and another from Elvis Ssekajugo.

On the other hand, Dickson Kigonya and Adrian Kambale struck once apiece as Buluuli edged Mawogola, 2-1. Daniel Bakaki scored the latter’s consolation.

In Kalangala, nothing could separate Ssese and Bulemeezi as each settled for a point in a 0-0 draw.

Kyadondo and Islanders Buvuma could as well not be separated as the game ended 1-1, while Mawokota beat Kooki 1-0.

This was the same fate as arch-rivals, Kyaggwe and Bugerere played out to a barren draw.
