Mengo City pulled off a major upset in the Round of 16 of the Uganda Futsal Cup, defeating tournament favorites Lubaga Grameen by a convincing 3-0 scoreline.
The underdogs took the lead just before halftime through a counter-attack goal by Sharif Opuuli. In the second half, John Musasizi and Ian Tugume added to the lead, securing Mengo City’s place in the quarterfinals.
Mengo City joins a strong field of teams in the quarterfinals, including Kisenyi FC, Fiyore SC, Park FC, First Touch Sports, Crown Lubiri, Motion Sports, and Kabuusu Clouds.

Other notable results from the Round of 16:
