Micho drops Watenga, Okello and Anukani in final Squad to face Algeria

Uganda Cranes Head Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has named the final squad that will face Algeria in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

Micho has trimmed the team to 23 players and the squad will travel to Cameroon this Friday morning.

Malumo Gallants goalkeeper Ismail Watenga, Paradou AC playmaker Allan Okello, and Vipers SC star Bright Anukani are among the notable dropped players.

Uganda Cranes will host Algeria on 18th June 2023 at Japoma Stadium in Douala, Cameroon.

The final squad has three goalkeepers, eight defenders, five midfielders, and seven forwards.

Before the Algeria game, the Cranes will play a friendly game against the Democratic Republic of Congo on 14th June 2023.

In Group F, Uganda sits second with four points same as Tanzania, Algeria leads the way with 12 points. Niger is bottom with only 2 points.
