Mutima Muyanja, Balangira and Ngaali win their first leg convincingly while Musu, Njove and Nsuma pick narrow advantages in Bika Bya Baganda Football tournament.
At Lubiri SS, Omutima Muyanja won over Nkusu 3-0 with Abu Muyanja, Ivan Mayanja and Osman Mayanja scoring goals.
Winning the game played on 7th May has put Omutima Omuyanja at an advantage ahead of the return leg on Friday, 9th May 2025 at Kibuli SS.
In the post-match interview, Coach Yusuf Baali, who is in Charge of Omutima Omuyanja clan, said; “With all due respect, Nkusu can’t beat us 4-0, we will handle our game carefully, good today we have had our game moving by our plans”
Earlier at Lubiri SS, Ngaali shocked Ffumbe with a comfortable 2-0 win. Salim Kazibwe and Deo Ssenyonga scored in the second half to ensure the win for the underdogs.
After earning the fantastic win, Ngaali team manager Tony Kazibwe confirmed his team, Ngaali, is in good condition to compete in this year’s Bika Football 2025 Shield.
“This year, as a team, we are ready to compete. Forget about last season where we were not, this year our mission is to make history in the competition, the fact that we learnt from the previous lessons”
In the game, Ffumbe got a chance to take the lead in the first half but Sulaiman Mpande failed to convert from a penalty.
In other games played at Lubiri SS, Nsuma defeated Mpeewo by a solo goal scored by Innocent Kanaabi Mukalazi.
Omusu and Engabi Enyunga played in the other game. Faridah Bulega’s coached side Omusu won 2-1 thanks to Derrick Jjagwe and Marvin Mulimba goals that put Omusu far from the reach of Nyunga despite Henry Matovu’s goal.
At Kibuli SS, Abalangira defeated Nyonyi Nakinsige 3-0 with Raymond Walugembe, Frank Kalanda and Ronald Kayondo scoring to secure the win on the return of Balangira to the competition after missing the previous editions.
Again at Kibuli SS, Njovu Clan won over Ntalaganya 3-2 in a 5-goal thriller, Kkobe defeated Kayozi 3-0 while Mazzi ga Kisasi failed to show up to hand Kinyomo a first leg advantage.
Winners of the stage over two legs shall qualify for round 32, with 8 teams joining the 24 teams that got byes at the Round of 64 of the tournament.
