Namuwongo Blazers were beaten 73-65 by JKL Dolphins to end their regular season on a low, in a National Basketball League game played at YMCA on Friday.
The shock defeat to the Dolphins also ended their 14-game unbeaten run. It all looked like a routine victory for the Blazers as they led the first quarter 22-12, a ten point lead they carried on till the end of the first half.
It is their last half that inflicted the pain as JKL put up 46 points compared to their dismal 28.
For the victors, Maluel Dier (19 points, 10 rebounds) and Mabol Makol (18 points, 14 rebounds) picked double-doubles, Ayiik and Benfait Lola scored 16 points each while Derrick Katumba had 4 points and 13 rebounds.
However, even though Nam Blazers lost, they will stay at the summit at the conclusion of the regular season as they hold a better head to head over their nearest rivals, City Oilers.
