Uganda Premier League | Saturday | MD 28

  • BUL Vs Vipers – FTC, Njeru | 4 PM

As the Uganda Premier League title hangs tantalizingly within reach, Vipers SC Co-Coach Fred Muhumuza has issued a rallying call to his squad ahead of Saturday’s pivotal encounter against BUL FC at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.

Vipers SC, perched atop the league with 65 points from 27 matches, need just one more victory to mathematically clinch their record-extending seventh league crown.

After a commanding 6-0 demolition of Mbale Heroes FC in their last outing, confidence is surging within the Venoms’ camp but Muhumuza is taking nothing for granted.

“We know what’s at stake,” Muhumuza said firmly.

“BUL are a tough side, especially at home but we’re motivated and focused. Every player understands the importance of this game. We’ve prepared well, and our mindset is on winning and finishing the job.”

Saturday’s fixture is far from a formality. BUL FC, third on the table with 50 points, have proved themselves worthy challengers this season.

Their recent 1-1 draw with fellow title contenders NEC FC underscored their resilience and they’ll be eager to disrupt Vipers’ celebrations in front of their home fans.

The two sides previously battled to a 1-1 draw earlier this season with Allan Okello equalizing after Pascal Ngobi’s opener.

Historically, Vipers have dominated the fixture, boasting 16 wins from 27 league meetings and just four losses.

With form, history and momentum on their side, not to mention captain Milton Karisa’s red-hot scoring streak, Vipers SC enter Njeru with one clear mission: win and secure the title with two games to spare.

However, all around the League, there will be other matches to be played on this Matchday 28;
