Police FC advanced to the semifinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after coming from behind to defeat holders Bul FC 2-1 at Kavumba.
Anthony Mayanja put the visitors (Bul FC) in the lead after just three minutes of play.
Bul FC pushed for another goal and came close when Hilary Onek‘s free kick was headed by Richard Wandyaka but the Kops custodian Davis Mutebi was equal to the test to deny them the second goal.
The first stanza of the game ended 1-0 in the favor of the Jinja based premier league side.
However in the 57th minute Big League side Police FC forced an equalizer through a Pascal Ngobi own goal.
Moments later substitute Denis Kalanzi‘s cross found Ronald Ssempala unmarked who made no mistake, heading to the far right corner to complete the comeback victory for Police FC.
Denis Kalanzi continued to be a threat to the Bul FC defenders and in the 70th minute missed a golden opportunity to stretch the lead for his side.
Coach Angelo Lonyensi‘s side controlled the game until the final whistle leaving Simeon Masaba frustrated on the Bul FC touchline.
Since the departure of coach Alex Isabirye to Vipers SC, Bul FC have failed to register any win, losing five and drawing three times.
