Police FC will play host to holders BUL FC in the first Plascon-painted Uganda Cup quarter-finals game today at Kavumba recreation ground.
The two teams will be out at 3 pm looking for a semifinal spot that will be determined after 90 minutes, extra time, or penalty kicks.
Top-flight side BUL FC, currently having a poor run in the league has a potential banana skin to avoid in the Big league side in a bid to return to winning ways.
The Jinja-based side ejected SC Villa 1-0 in the last 16 to reach the quarter-finals while Police FC beat Ndejje University 2-0 at home.
In the press conference yesterday, Police FC head coach Angelo Lonyensi was optimistic that his team has all the necessary tools to eliminate BUL FC.
“We won our previous game at home with a good margin and I believe we are ready to punish BUL FC.”
In the opposite corner, BUL FC head coach Simeon Masaba is not taking their opponents as underdogs going by the history they have on their crest.
“Police has experienced coaches and if we are to eject them, we have to score many goals and this is something we have been working on in our previous training sessions.”
Police FC will miss the services of Male Reagan and Avemah Shafik.
Kirabira Mabirizi Shakibu will be subjected to a late fitness test, but the rest of the squad is available for selection.
The visitors will miss the services of Emmanuel Kalyowa and Ibrahim Kazindula who are suspended. Ronald Otti and Reagan Kalyowa are also ruled out due to injuries.
