Rogers Nkugwa has rejoined Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women Football Club ahead of the new season.

Nkugwa agreed personal terms with Uganda Martyrs and leaves Asubo Gafford Ladies FC.

The CAF C tactician left Uganda Martyrs towards the end of the 2021/22 season. In his last game at Uganda Martyrs, his side defeated Rines SS WFC 2-0 in Wakiso.

The gaffer later joined Asubo Gafford Ladies at the start of the second round of the 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League.

With only four points collected in the first round, Nkugwa managed to help Asubo Gafford Ladies FC from relegation on the last day of the season.

He later led the team to win their maiden FUFA Women’s Beach Soccer League title.

The gaffer has had two stints at Uganda Martyrs before joining Gafford and this will be his third time coaching the Lubaga-based side.

Former Lady Doves coach Rajab Buyinza will be the assistant coach for Rogers Nkugwa at Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC.

Meanwhile, coach Edward Ssozi Kasozi and Ssaka John who have been Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC head coach and assistant respectively, will leave their positions.

Edward Ssozi Kasozi and Ssaka John helped the team to win their first-ever competitive title edging She Maroons 1-0 in the FUFA Women’s Cup Final this year.

Last season, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC finished third in the FUFA Women Super League behind champions Kampala Queens and Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC.
