Sandra Nabweteme, the experienced Ugandan forward, has joined Turkish side Kdz. Ereğli Belediye Spor on a one-year contract with an option of further extension.
Nabweteme who has already left the country to start her new journey has been a free agent after leaving Maccabi Hadera FC at the end of 2022/23 season.
At Kdz. Ereğli Belediye Spor, Nabweteme will join other African players like Noelle Kiomegne Djomo of Cameroon.

Last season, Nabweteme netted a total of 10 goals and 13 assists in 22 games she played at both Hapoel Petach Tikva and Maccabi Hadera Fc.
In 2022, Nabweteme scored 5 goals and registered 2 assists in 5 games when she helped Uganda to lift their maiden CECAFA Women Senior Championship.
Nabweteme ‘A kid from Katwe’ rose on scene at Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC and in 2015 she won the FUFA Female Footballer of year.

Kdz. Ereğli Belediye Spor is a women’s football team based in the Karadeniz Ereğli district of Zonguldak Province in Turkey.
They are associated with Karadeniz Ereğli Belediye Spor Kulübü, a men’s side, and play in the Turkish Women’s First Football League.
Sandra Nabweteme’s career outside Uganda
In 2016, Nabweteme left Uganda and joined SWOSU (Southwestern Oklahoma State University) where she played for four years while pursuing her studies.
At SWOSU, Nabweteme scored 78 goals and registered 36 assists in the 81 games she played and she was also named in the Great American Conference (GAC) team of the decade.
In March 2021, she joined Thor/Ka which is located in Akureyri and features in the Iceland top-flight league Urvalsdeild Kvenna.
In 2022 Nabweteme joined Isreal’s Hapoel Petach Tikva in the top league before departing in early 2023 to join Maccabi Hadera Fc.
And now she’s a player of Kdz. Ereğli Belediye Spor.
