2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Saturday April 25, 2026 | MD 25
- Calvary FC Vs KCCA FC – Midigo Primary School Ground, Yumbe | 4 pm
On what is expected to be a quiet afternoon in Yumbe, the Midigo Primary School Playground will host a crucial football match. It will stage a contest of urgency and belief, one team chasing glory, the other fighting to survive.
When Calvary FC line up against Kampala Capital City Authority FC this Saturday, the gap between them on the table will be vast but the tension on the pitch may not be.
KCCA arrive with the weight of expectation. Still within reach of leaders Vipers SC, they know a win in Yumbe could pull them to within touching distance of the title. Anything less risks undoing weeks of steady progress.

And yet, this is not the same Calvary side they brushed aside earlier in the season. At Lugogo, KCCA ran out 4-2 winners in a match that seemed to confirm the expected order.
Since then, however, something has shifted. Calvary, long rooted to the bottom, have begun to show signs of resistance, three matches unbeaten, two goalless draws against Kitara FC and Lugazi FC, followed by a 2–0 win over Buhimba United Saints FC have given them something they have lacked for much of the season which is belief.
Much of that spark has come from Lawrence Olaboro, whose goals in their outing against Buhimba reminded everyone that even struggling sides can carry a cutting edge. Behind him, Junior Andama and Simon Peter Odeke continues to search for openings in tight games.

KCCA, though, remain a different challenge altogether. The “Kasasiro Boys” come into this fixture on the back of consecutive wins, their rhythm returning at just the right time. Under Co-coaches Brian Ssenyondo and Jackson Magera, the team has steadied, finding both results and confidence.
Up front, the threat is clear, Ivan Ahimbisibwe, Saidi Mayanja, and Shafik Nana Kwikiriza offer pace, movement, and goals. In midfield, Joel Sserunjogi provides control, while captain Charles Lukwago anchors the side with calm authority.
On paper, it leans one way but football, especially at this stage of the season, rarely follows the script.
On KCCA’s side, it will be about keeping pressure on the leaders and cut the gap while Calvary, it is about refusing to fade quietly as they fight relegation.
Elsewhere, Buhimba United Saints visit SC Villa in Kadiba, Maroons host Police at the Prison Ground, and Lugazi face Kitara in Najjembe.
