Uganda Premier League | Saturday Results | MD 25

  • KCCA 1-0 Mbarara City
  • Wakiso Giants 1-2 BUL
  • SC Villa 0-0 Kitara

Matchday 25 of the Uganda Premier League delivered a cocktail of emotions as KCCA FC ended their winless streak, Wakiso Giants’ woes deepened at home, while SC Villa and Kitara FC settled for a tense stalemate.

  • KCCA 1-0 Mbarara City

At the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, KCCA FC finally found their rhythm, grinding out a crucial 1-0 victory over Mbarara City.

Arafat Usama was the hero of the day, firing home a second-half strike that proved enough to hand the Kasasiro Boys all three points.

The win was particularly sweet for KCCA who were docked points earlier from their first-round meeting with the Ankole Lions.

The triumph lifts KCCA to sixth place on the table with 37 points breathing new life into their season after three consecutive defeats.

Meanwhile, Mbarara City, who started the match brightly, remain rooted in 13th with 23 points.

  • Wakiso Giants 1-2 BUL

Across town in Wakiso, it was another story of heartbreak for the struggling Wakiso Giants. BUL FC stormed Wakissha and walked away 2-1 victors, leaving the hosts trapped in the relegation zone.

Najib Fesali opened the scoring early for BUL but Hudson Mbalire’s swift equalizer gave the home fans brief hope.

However, it was substitute Ibrahim Orit who sealed the fate of Wakiso Giants with a second-half header that the desperate hosts could not recover from.

Despite missing key figures, BUL showed their title credentials by holding firm to consolidate their third-place spot with 46 points. Wakiso, on the other hand, remain dangerously close to the drop with just 19 points.

  • SC Villa 0-0 Kitara

Meanwhile, at the Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku, SC Villa and Kitara FC played out a goalless draw in a match that offered intensity but lacked goals.

Villa, roared on by their loyal faithful, created several chances through Charles Lwanga but a stubborn Kitara defence led by Ronald Otti and Arthur Kiggundu refused to be breached.

Kitara nearly stole it late on with Jude Ssemugabi forcing a sharp save from Braddy Wokorach.

The result sees both sides remain level on 37 points with Kitara edging fifth and Villa sixth by goal difference as they chase a strong finish to the season.
