- Lugazi FC 0-1 SC Villa
Frank Ssebuufu stepped up again for SC Villa, scoring early to secure a 1-0 win over Lugazi and keep the Jogoos in the title race.
Villa needed just three minutes in Najjembe to find the breakthrough.
Barasa Mangoli’s long ball picked out David Owori, who was brought down at the edge of the box, but the ball fell kindly to Ssebuufu.
The forward reacted instantly, lifting it over goalkeeper Allan Batali, who had come off his line.
It proved enough on a day Villa had to work for every inch. Ssebuufu nearly added a second in the 30th minute but was denied by Batali, while Aslam Ssemakula also missed a good chance from close range.
Lugazi threatened just before halftime, but David Lukwago made a key save to protect Villa’s lead.

The second half was about discipline. Villa sat back, absorbed pressure, and defended well to see out the result.
The win moves SC Villa to third on 48 points, keeping them in touch with the leaders. Lugazi remains 13th on 20 points, five above the relegation zone.
Next, Villa host Buhimba United Saints on Saturday, April 25 at 8 pm, while Lugazi face Kitara earlier on the same day.
