  • UPDF FC Vs URA FC – Bombo Military Ground | 4 pm

URA FC travel to Bombo Barracks on Friday with an aim of doing the double over UPDF FC and mathematically clear their relegation worries.

It won’t be easy as Coach Hussein Mbalangu is dealing with a stretched squad.

Dissan Galiwango is out with a head injury, while Abdul Magada, Hudu Mulikyi, Frank Olimi Nyarwa, and Joseph Ssemujju are all sidelined. Arthur Kiggundu will need a late fitness test.

Their form doesn’t help either. URA are winless in four matches, managing just one point. In their last game, they led Police through Joshua Lubwama but collapsed to a 2-1 defeat.

Captain Moses Aliro also missed a penalty, summing up their struggles.

“We have tried to correct the mistakes,” Mbalangu said ahead of the game. “This is a difficult match.”

And he’s right, this is a survival battle. URA sit 11th with 23 points, just three above UPDF in 12th. Both sides are still at risk of relegation, and neither can afford to slip.

The only comfort for URA is the first round meeting. They beat UPDF 3-2 at Nakivubo, with Aliro scoring twice and George Masembe adding the third. That result will give them belief.

But UPDF come in stronger, the army side have taken six points from their last three games, including a dominant 5-2 win over BUL in Njeru.

Emmanuel Ochen scored twice in that match, with Ivan Bogere, Enrique Lubwama, and Rashidi Faridi also on target.

At home, UPDF will feel confident. Lubwama, Ochen, and Samson Kigozi have given them an attacking edge, and another win could push them further from danger.

UPDF FC in training on Thursday.

URA, though, still have threats. Aliro remains key despite his recent miss, and he will be backed by Bunyaga and others as they search for a response.
