Uganda Premier League 2010/11 champions URA FC have signed attacking midfielder Laban Tibita from Busoga United on a two-year contract.

Tibita, who was named the 2022/23 League Midfielder of the Season, is a highly rated player who is expected to add creativity and goals to the Tax Collectors’ midfield.

The 25-year-old has previously played for Maroons FC, Tooro United, Makerere University and Edgars Youth Program.

He is known for his dribbling skills, passing ability and eye for goal.

Tibita is excited to join URA FC and is looking forward to helping the club win trophies.

“I am happy to be here and I want to make my time count. I want to help the club win trophies,” he said.

“URA FC is a big club and totally different from my previous club but I am ready to serve,” he added.

Last season, Tibita featured 27 times for Busoga United, scoring seven goals and managing four assists as well as scooping five Man of the Match awards.

He joins other new recruits at URA including John Innocent Kisolo, Amis Bwangani, Godfrey Sekibengo, Ibrahim Wammanah, Rogers Omedwa, Luzige Kisiriko, Sharif Kimbowa, Moses Aliro, Enock Walusimbi among others.

Tibita’s arrival is a major boost for URA FC, who are looking to challenge for the league title next season.
