After the Plascon co-sponsored Uganda Cup Semifinals draw held today at the Stanbic Bank offices along Nakasero Road, Kitara FC Head Coach George Lutalo said they will finish the mission of reaching this year’s final in Hoima over Vipers SC.

“We thank the organizers for the good planning. We are happy for this draw because we always enjoy playing Vipers. This time, we will take advantage of the fact that we will be the first to host, and we will use the opportunity to finish the match in Hoima, so by the second leg, it will almost be a walkover.”

Kitara FC will host Vipers SC in the first leg scheduled for a date between 1st and 5th May 2026 in Hoima and then visit St Mary’s Stadium Kitende on a date between 15th and 17th.

Vipers SC coach Ivan Jacky Minnaert challenged Kitara FC to play better this time. “Vipers SC and Kitara would always be a good match, but I ask our colleagues to play better this time than the way they did last time.”

The fixture comes after a few days when Vipers SC hosted Kitara FC and played to a 0-0 draw in Kitende. The first leg in the league also ended in a draw when Vipers SC visited Hoima at the home of Kitara FC Royal Park Butema.

In the last two seasons, Kitara FC and Vipers SC have been meeting at this stage, and in 2024, Kitara FC defeated Vipers SC to go on to win the Uganda Cup, while in 2025, Vipers SC defeated Kitara FC to win the Cup, which they are defending this time.
