Newly signed Vipers SC player Ashraf Mandela has expressed his readiness to make his return count and compete for a starting berth as well.

Mandela has signed a two-year contract that will keep him in the red shirt at least until 2024.

The right-back left Kitende in 2018 having featured for both their feeder side, St Mary’s Secondary School and the senior team.

“I was here as a boy and now, l come back as a man ready to compete. This is a place where my dream started and l want it to continue here,” Mandela revealed via the Club website.

“Many people will ask me why I came back to this palace,” he said before adding:

“You know l call it a palace because it’s number one in East Africa and moreover, we are chasing to be number one in Africa. I call this a come back because l was once here, left and now am back here.”

At the start of the 2018/19 season, he joined SC Villa before making a move to URA FC where he spent three campaigns.

He is the Kitende side’s fifth signing after Isa Mubiru, Marvin Joseph Youngman, Olivier Omadjondo Osomba and goalkeeper Alfred Macumu Mudekereza.
