Four days ahead of the Buganda Masaza Cup draws on Tuesday, May 19, the organizing committee, led by Hajji Ssulaiman Ssejjengo, has released the draft for the draw, with the top three being seeded.
The draft places defending champion Buwekula in the Bulange group, runners-up Ssingo in the Muganzirwazza group, and second runners-up Kyaggwe in the Masengere group.
The draft continues to split the remaining 15 teams into five pots of three teams each, from which they will be picked and placed into three different groups, joining the seeded teams there.

As the 2026 tournament awaits kickoff on June 13, most probably in Mubende, with the defending champions holding full rights to host the opening game, Buwekula will either take on Kyadondo, Kabula, or the record champions Gomba.
Last year, Gomba resistantly played against Buddu in the 2025 Buganda Masaza Cup opener at Kitove sports arena, but Gomba’s resistance was broken by a thunderous effort from Crispus Sseruwuge in the 79th minute of the play.
The goal is still living in memory for guiding Buddu to become the first defending champion to win an opener of the Buganda Masaza Cup in about five seasons.
Again, for the record, history has high chances of repeating in reflect, as it was in last year’s opener with Felix Ssekabuza, who won the trophy for Buwekula already left for Gomba.
Last year, Simon Ddungu, again as Gomba Lions Coach, faced a tough return to Buddu as he lost 1-0 to a team he had guided to win the prestigious trophy in 2024 the previous season.
