As Uganda aims to seal the African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals slot, head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has summoned three new faces to boost his squad.
The tactician has added KCCA FC talisman Muhammad Shaban, BUL FC midfielder George Kasonko and Vipers SC winger Ibrahim Orit to the squad that played the first leg in Tanzania.
Uganda beat the Taifa Stars 1-0 on Saturday in the first leg qualifier but Micho wants his side to create more chances and finish them off.
It needed Travis Mutyaba‘s individual magic to pick the win, and Micho would undoubtedly be worried of his team’s attacking options.
Orit and Shaban have impressed with their respective clubs in preseason friendlies and their additions could be a big boost for the Cranes.
Orit scored a brace in Vipers’ 4-0 friendly win against Soltilo Bright Stars on Tuesday while Shaban scored the loan goal as KCCA beat Lira FC 1-0 on Saturday.
The second leg is slated for this Saturday at the St Mary’s Stadium Kitende, with the victor on aggregate advancing to the 2023 CHAN finals in Algeria.
