The Cricket Cranes flew out to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania today, ready to embark on the defining final chapter of their ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League B campaign.
Uganda heads into the August 6–19, 2026 assignment sitting at the top of the six-team standings with 18 points and an unbeaten record, boasting eight victories and two no-results from 10 matches.
Uganda needs three victories to guarantee progression to the next stage of the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup qualification pathway, but Head Coach Steve Tikolo insists the team will not approach the tournament with a minimum-target mentality.

Games will be played at the University of Dar es Salaam Complex, where the newly-erected ESTIM Ground and NTS Ground will provide a fresh challenge for all competing teams.
“Obviously, being new grounds, I wouldn’t speak much on those, but the good thing is when we get there, we have warm-up games that will give us an insight into how the wicket will play,” said Tikolo.
Uganda will face hosts Tanzania on August 4 before taking on Hong Kong, China two days later in the warm-up tournament, with both games starting at 9:00 AM.
Italy remains Uganda’s closest challenger, while Hong Kong, China is also still firmly involved in the qualification race. Tanzania, Bahrain, and Singapore cannot challenge for the top two positions, but they remain dangerous opponents.
