Defending champions OBB slip up as League tips off

The National Volleyball League returned over the weekend with six games on the menu for both genders at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

With a packed stadium, players exhibited skills as mixed results were registered with the Men’s defending champions going down to Sport-S.

Iganga based side Oranger Blockbusters (OBB) who lost to the same side in the finals of Club Championship last week had to take in a bitter three-set sweep.

The other two men’s games had KAVC sweep UCU while Ndejje University beat six-time champions Nemo Stars on 3-2 sets.

Away from the men to the ladies, Sport-S beat KAVC 3-0, OBB shocked former champions Nkumba to a 3-2 sets win on their league debut.

The final women’s game had defending champions Ndejje defeat KCCA 3-1 in a game that had the students dig deep in set three to regian their lead and finally taking it home.
