Forward Sheif Batte has completed his move to 7-time Uganda Premier League champions Express FC on a one-year employment contract.

Last season, Batte scored three league goals for SC Villa to finish third on the log, failing to win the league trophy on the last day but he was released by the club at the end of the season.

Batte becomes the first unveiled player for the club however, the club has already signed Andrew Kawooya and defender Ashiraf Mbaziira.

The energetic striker was ecstatic upon his unveiling.

“I am very excited to Join Express FC, this is a big club every player would love to play for and I am to deliver. To the express fans, I can’t wait to see you.” Batte said via Express FC Website.

Express FC head coach James Odoch, via the club’s website, expressed his feelings after signing Batte.

“I’m very happy that we have acquired the services of a proven goal scorer who is still in his best years of the game, the goal-scoring department last season was lacking and we believe Batte is going to make it only stronger.” Odoch said.

Express FC finished 10th with 34 points last season in the Startimes Uganda Premier League and they’re looking to improve on that disappointing performance next season.

Batte is expected to boost the club’s striking department that has Marvin Oshaba and Anwar Ntege.

He has previously featured at SC Villa, Maroons FC, Kyetume, UPF, Gaddafi FC, Super Eagle F.C, Kazo Academy, KKL, Stegotta F.C, among others.
