SC Villa Administrative Woes Threaten Renaissance

Uganda Premier League record holders SC Villa are facing administrative woes that could threaten their plans for a renaissance.

Newly appointed CEO Isaac Mwesigwa is reportedly at loggerheads with club president Omar Mandela.

Mwesigwa is said to have been told to step aside from his role after he presented a list of potential signings and requested to form a secretariat at the club.

Mwesigwa has denied the reports, but his absence from work this week has only added to speculation that he is on his way out.

The administrative problems at SC Villa come at a time when the club is trying to rebuild after a few years of decline.

In 2020, Mwesigwa helped Express FC win the Uganda Premier League title and the CECAFA Kagame Cup.

He is hoping to bring that same success to SC Villa, but the current situation makes it difficult to see how that will happen.

If the administrative problems at SC Villa are not resolved, it could be a long time before the Jogoos return to their former glory.
