The Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) confirmed that the second round will tip off on April 24 at Lugogo, just under two weeks after the first round ended.

On opening night, JT Lady Jaguars face UCU Lady Canons before Sommet take on JT Jaguars in the men’s game.

The second round will run until June 12, with teams chasing a place in the top eight and a spot in the playoffs.

The biggest talking point is Hoima’s debut as an NBL host. From May 22 to 24, top-flight basketball will be played in the city for the first time, with games scheduled on both the indoor and outdoor courts at Hoima Stadium Arena.

Fans there will get a major fixture as Namuwongo Blazers face City Oilers, a repeat of last season’s final. Both teams were dominant in the first round, finishing with identical 10-1 records.

In the women’s division, JT Lady Jaguars and UCU Lady Canons also led the standings with the same record, setting up another tight race in the second round.

Other venues for the round include UCU Mukono, Abja Park Naalya, Rezlife Lubowa, YMCA Wandegeya and Jaguars Den Kira, alongside Hamz Stadium Nakivubo.

Hoima will remain busy even after the NBL visit, as it prepares to host the FIBA AfroBasket U18 Zone V Qualifiers from June 14 to 20.
