Kabula, currently leading the Masengere group with 19 points, will be without several key players, including top scorer Iravai Mamur, Akbar Ssentengo, Nicholas Jjonga, and Murish Babugi as they take on Busujju on Sunday, 1 September 2024.
Busujju, on the other hand, are just three points behind Kabula on 16 points and are eager to close the gap. A win would put them on equal points with Kabula and could give them the edge based on goal difference. Heading into the epic clash both teams have a goal difference of 5 after 8 games.
A win for Kabula at Bakijjulula in Lyatonde district, will seal top spot in the group since it will take coach Eric Mubiru’s side to 22 points, creating a 6 point gap between them and Busujju.
In the other group fixture, Mawokota will visit Busiro at Ssentema Play Ground. Mawokota, the three-time champions, are looking to continue their resurgence after being awarded three points and three goals from their match against Ssese. Busiro, on the other hand, is still searching for their first home win of the campaign.
In Muganzirwazza group, Gomba will host group leaders Ssingo at Kabulasoke. Buwekula will take on Kooki, while Mawogola will host Kyaggwe. Mawogola shall host Kyaggwe awayfrom their home as punishment for a previous fight incident a during a match against Buwekula.
Saturday 31, August 2024 saw the return of the Masaza Cup and in the early kickoff played at Magyo, visitors Ssese defeated Buvuma 3-0, while Butambala humiliated defending champions Bulemeezi in a 4-0 defeat in Bulange group.
