Former Wakiso Giants FC playmaker Ibrahim Kasule Baba has finally secured a move abroad, netting a permanent transfer to New York Red Bulls II, in the US.
The deal comes after tight relations between the Purple Sharks and former Uganda Cranes skipper Ibra Ssekagya, who is also the head coach at the New York Red Bulls feeder side.
The latter also earlier last week signed striker Frank Ssebuufu from the Wakiso-based team
Meanwhile, the Kasule deal was made official on Thursday, in a communication from the Club’s Sporting Director, Denis Hamlet via their official website.
“We are looking forward to adding a player like Ibrahim to the group,” the announcement partly read.
“And, he (Kasule) has the qualities that we are looking for when deciding how to improve the current team,” Hamlet added.
Ssekagya was glad to net down Kasule, asserting the midfielder-cum-forward will be a perfect fit for New York Red Bulls II.
“Ibrahim and the skills he can provide, are going to fit right in the squad this season. His success at such a young age was a main factor on why we decided to bring him this season,” Ssekagya added.
He becomes the third Ugandan on the Club’s books. Midfielder Steven Sserwadda is the other, although he was last year graduated to the senior team.
