Kutchi Tigers kept their tiny hopes of winning the league alive after their 3-wicket win over Nyakasura on Sunday in the National Men’s 50 Over League.

The two sides saw the game reduced to 41 Overs and Nyakasura managed just 96.

The side was bowled out in the 23rd Over, and the Tigers were able to chase it with the same Overs.

Dhansuk Jesani recorded three wickets in that game. Jesani now has 19 wickets; overtaking Frank Nsubuga as the top wicket taker this season.

The Tigers then had Hasin Ashani who picked two wickets score 23 runs for them as they chased the paltry score.

Nanji Pindoria (11), Avnish Vekariya (11) and Nandikishor Patel (13) also got the runs, but the real contributor to the score card was the extras. Nyakasura gave 22 of those.

Innocent Mwebaze got four wickets, but he bowled 7 wides. Keith Dan Aman picked no wicket, but bowled 4 wides and as many no balls.

Nyakasura captain Pascal Murungi also sent in five wides.

The result leaves Nyakasura sixth in the league standings, at a risk of getting relegated as they’re left with just one game to end their season.

Should they lose that game and the other results don’t go their way, they could get relegated.

Kutchi Tigers remain third, but are now just two points behind Aziz Damani Development and Aziz Damani, the top two teams in the league.
