Life team started the Hamz Cup in style with a breakthrough goal converted by Arafat Kembo in the 90th minute of the game, played on the night of 6th June 2026 at Hamz Stadium.
For the entire 90 minutes, Bakuli Car Dealers played the game under their control, but it ended in disappointment as Life Team became the eventual winner of the game.
Earlier, Mutaasa Kafeero easily passed through Sanyu D Bags with a 3-0 triumph. Brian Tumusiime ‘Matu’ scored twice and Ismail Lwamitala scored from a penalty.
After opening matches, the tournament shall return to action on Wednesday, June 10, with two more games as Spanish Salleh Tiles take on Leopards FC, while Block F shall take on Akright City.
All teams featured in opening fixtures shall have to wait until June 27, when the group stage first round shall come to an end, before starting to recount the next round of the group.
The tournament has 32 teams in eight groups hustling for a total of 100 million Uganda Shillings placed by Hamz group director Hajji Hamis Kiggundu, who attended the opening ceremony in person.
