Former Vipers SC star midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga has completed a move to Major League Soccer (MLS) Next Pro side Austin FC II on loan till the end of the campaign, putting a stop to a series of rumors about his next destination.

He joins the Americans from his reported parent club MFK Vyskov of Czech Republic, a side he apparently signed for, following a complicated move earlier in the season.

“Announcing the first-ever Austin FC II signings is an exciting step as the team continues to build toward its inaugural season,” Sean Rubio the Director of Player Personnel at Austin FC II said via the club website.

“Bobosi Byaruhanga, David Rodriguez, and Cheick Toure are all top young players who we hope will have ample opportunity to continue their development in Austin.”

The Uganda Cranes player has not been in a single competitive engagement this season after exiting Vipers at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

He has for months been heavily linked to a host of clubs including Tanzanian giants Simba SC and Young Africans SC.

He joins two other Ugandan youngsters in the US, including Aziz Kayondo and Musa Ramathan, who are both on loan from Real Monarchs and FC Cincinnati II, respectively.

The other Ugandan who has benefitted in a move to America is Steven Sserwadda, who has had a fruitful two years at New York Red BUL II and the senior side.

Austin FC II is a development side of MLS side Austin FC and they play in the third tier of American football.
