BUL FC are raring to give Vipers SC a torrid time as the pair lock horns in the Uganda Premier League at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Tuesday.
It will also be a return for Vipers’ coach Alex Isabirye to a side he left earlier in the year for Kitende.
Meanwhile, it’s a crunch tie for the visitors, who only lead the standings courtesy of a superior goal difference.
They have 49 points, which is the same as the second-placed KCCA FC and the third-placed SC Villa, with any slip granting the latter pair advantage.
“Vipers is a big team that is fighting for the trophy, but we are also improving so we expect to put up the best performance such that we get the results we want,” said BUL assistant head coach Dan Kabale to the club media on Monday.
“Regardless he (Isabirye/Vipers) is fighting for the trophy, we don’t want to know, we want to win the game tomorrow,” Kabale rumbled.
Winless streak for BUL FC
Meanwhile, since Isabirye’s departure, BUL FC haven’t won a game in the second round of the league campaign.
This has had them suffer defeat five times and draw seven, but, Kabale is confident the team will make a turnaround.
“We have not won a single game in the second half (round) but there has been improvement and we hope to get results tomorrow.”
“We have had a problem of scoring goals so we have tried our level best to make sure that we score, we hope for the best.”
The two have met 19 times in the league since the 2012/13 season, ten years back.
Vipers have managed 13 victories and suffered just two losses while four ties have ended in stalemates.
In the other crunch ties, Busoga United who are looking at surviving relegation, host the title-chasing KCCA.
The same is true as Villa hosts Blacks Power FC at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
