SC Villa head coach Jackson Magera has clinched the Pilsner Coach of the Month for December, following a relatively good run of results.

Under Magera’s watch, the league record champions (16) won thrice and drew once in the four games they played in December last year.

The Jogoo defeated UPDF FC 2-0, while they edged Blacks Power FC 1-0 and Maroons 1-0. They then shared spoils with URA FC in a 1-1 draw.

“I am thrilled to have won this award and it shows how progressing we have been as a team,” Magera said at Kati Kati on Friday.

“There are over 15 coaches in the league but being the best performer in December is astonishing and I believe this is my best achievement as a coach.”

“We shall continue improving as a team and we are looking forward to the start of the second round of the season,” he added.

Magera beat off competition from BUL FC and KCCA FC head coaches Alex Isabirye and Morley Byekwaso respectively to the award.

Villa ended the first round fifth on the 15-team SUPL log with 24 points after 14 games and their second round commences on the road against Gaddafi FC.

Meanwhile, for starters, the awards were delayed as the Uganda Premier League had taken a break due to Uganda Cranes’ engagement in the African Nations Championships (CHAN).
