FUFA Women Super League side Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC are in advanced talks to sign defender Hasifah Namboozo from Byafaayo Queens FC.

According to our sources, Uganda Martyrs will pay Five million shillings to sign the sweeper.

The player is also interested in joining Uganda Martyrs and is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Kiddawalime side.

It’s believed that Namboozo comes as a direct replacement for Patience Nabulobi who left Uganda Martyrs and joined Kampala Queens FC.

Namboozo had a tremendous 2022/23 season with Byafaayo Queens where she netted four times.

The defender who scored the first and last goal for Byafaayo Queens FC last season, guided them to FUFA Women Elite League promotion.

Uganda Martyrs have already signed Shaminah Nakalyowa and Sharon Kanyiginya from Byafaayo Queens FC and Tooro Queens FC respectively.

The Lubaga based side are strengthening their squad as they seek to compete for the league title and also to defend the FUFA Women’s Cup title.

I am really disappointed in my team of Uganda Martyrs,we have been known for grooming our own players but see the ones we are buying now, from teams that have just come in existence,if we are buy players, why don’t we launch an attack on our direct rivals and we lure some good well established players as we build the ones we have already?,CEO madam Freda????
