Uganda Premier League | Tuesday | MD 26
- KCCA Vs Police – Lugogo 7 PM
- Vipers Vs UPDF – Kitende 7 PM
- BUL Vs Lugazi – FTC, Njeru 4 PM
The Uganda Premier League returns this Tuesday for Matchday 26 with three fixtures set to unfold across different venues.
As the season edges toward its climax, teams are fighting on multiple fronts from title ambitions to survival battles and promising fans a feast of football drama.
On Tuesday, April 29th, KCCA under Jackson Magera will be hoping to win their second consecutive game in the League against Police, hoping to do the same after sinking URA 2-0 in Kavumba as they drift away from the relegation zone
For Vipers, they continue their title race with extreme hope that they can come out big against Paul Kiwanuka’s resilient UPDF side in Kitende, while BUL continue to defy odds despite absentees holding on hope that they can grab a win over former pay masters.
- KCCA FC vs Police FC: Magera’s moment at Lugogo
At the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, KCCA FC will be gunning for their second straight win under interim coach Jackson Magera.
After a rocky start that saw him lose his first two games, Magera steadied the ship with a vital win over Mbarara City and is now looking to guide the Kasasiro Boys past a revived Police FC side.
The reverse fixture ended in a 0-0 stalemate at the Kavumba Recreation Ground, but this time, there’s much more at stake.
Police FC, under Matia Lule, have been rejuvenated, unbeaten in three outings since his appointment including two wins and a draw against high-flying BUL FC.
“The boys are well prepared and ready to go,” said Lule, who is chasing a third clean sheet in a row.
With KCCA languishing mid-table and Police desperate to climb further from danger, this clash could define both sides’ run-in.
- Vipers SC vs UPDF FC: Fortress Kitende on alert
Over at St. Mary’s Stadium, league leaders Vipers SC are on a mission to stretch their lead at the summit when they face UPDF FC under the lights.
Currently five points clear, a win would see John Luyinda Ayala’s side pull eight points ahead of NEC FC, who play 24 hours later. The Venoms have been formidable at Kitende, 12 wins out of 12 and a perfect 36 points collected.
Their dominance over UPDF is emphatic: unbeaten in 15 meetings, winning 11 and drawing four.
The last five matches have all gone Vipers’ way, including a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture courtesy of an early Allan Okello strike.
Vipers boast both the league’s best defense and most balanced attack, having netted 39 times while conceding just 13 goals in 25 games.
Meanwhile, UPDF are coming off a frustrating 2-2 draw with Express, where they squandered a two-goal lead. Their form in Kitende offers little hope, they’ve lost all seven visits to the venue.
- BUL FC vs Lugazi FC: Tactical Tug of War in Njeru
At the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, third-placed BUL FC host Lugazi FC in a clash that carries weight for both teams’ league aspirations.
BUL, coming off a gritty 2-1 away win at Wakiso Giants despite missing several key players and their head coach Abbey Kikomeko, are eager to keep momentum.
Assistant coach Simeon Masaba, who oversaw the win, believes the squad is primed for another strong showing.
Lugazi, on the other hand, have grown in confidence after staging a dramatic comeback against Soltilo Bright Stars.
Their assistant coach Efiti Gerald emphasized their improved attacking efficiency, a key weapon as they look to avenge their 2-1 loss in the reverse fixture.
A win for BUL cements their grip on third place, while victory for Lugazi could catapult them to ninth, if results elsewhere go their way.
