UPL: Claw-less Express FC fails to hurt Blacks Power

Express FC just can’t find a win as they were yet again held into a goalless draw by Blacks Power FC at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Wednesday.

The Red Eagles, whose claws have proved blunt, did not show any urgency in attack, lacked cohesion and were fully deserving of another draw.

Maximum points have eluded Express in the past seven games as they have lost four times and drawn thrice on the bounce.

Against the Lira-based side, the hosts’ only purposeful threat of the opening half arrived in the 10th minute, but Hassan Mubiru looped inches over the bar with goalkeeper Emmanuel Odongo beaten.

It wasn’t very different in the second half till the 70th minute as substitute Ivan Mayanja troubled Odongo with a long range shot.

Express defender Arthur Kiggundu had some bit of threat on the opposite end, but his headed effort lacked enough power to trouble Odongo in goal.

Express have finished the first round of the season lying ninth with 17 points, while Blacks Power are 12th on the 15-team table with 11 points.
