Vipers SC managed a narrow 1-0 victory against Arua Hill SC in the Uganda Premier League, on Tuesday at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Winger Milton Karisa was on target to power the Venoms in what was also their third win of the campaign in six matches, to make fifth place with 11 points.

The hosts should have broken the deadlock earlier on in the 12th minute, but Yunus Sentamu’s effort was stabbed off the line by defender Rashid Muhammad.

Moments later, they netted the opener, with Karisa superbly clipping in a brilliant through pass from Man of the Match, Bright Anukani.

Vipers were thereby forced into an early substitution as right-back Ashraf Mandela got off, after a nasty head collision with Isaac Ogwang.

In the 69th minute, Karisa shot wide after another brilliant through ball from Anukani, to leave matters at 1-0.

The Venoms will return to action on Friday against UPDF FC at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende in what promises to be another pulsating encounter. Meanwhile, Arua Hill will host SC Villa a day later.
