- SC Villa 0-4 Buhimba United Saints FC
Charles Lwanga returned to the scoresheet as SC Villa produced a commanding 4-0 win over Buhimba United in a one-sided Uganda Premier League clash.
Villa needed only two minutes to take control. Patrick Jonah Kakande finished a neat move set up by Frank Ssebuufu to open the scoring on his birthday, setting the tone for the afternoon.
The pressure stayed on. In the 25th minute, Najib Yiga doubled the lead, again assisted by Ssebuufu, as Villa went into halftime 2-0 up and firmly in charge.
After the break, the hosts continued to push. On the hour mark, Yiga struck again to make it 3-0, this time with Charles Lwanga providing the assist.
Villa’s dominance also saw new signing Andrew Okumu make his debut in the 70th minute, coming on for Frank Mulimi.
Late on, Lwanga capped the performance with a goal of his own, sealing a 4-0 win and marking a confident return to scoring form.
The result lifts SC Villa to 51 points, keeping them in the title race. Buhimba United remain stuck in the relegation zone on 15 points, with survival hopes fading.
Villa now shift focus to an away trip against Kitara FC, while Buhimba host Lugazi FC.
Matchday 25 action concludes on Sunday with leaders Vipers SC facing Entebbe UPPC at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
