  • Vipers SC Vs Entebbe UPPC FC -St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende | 8 pm

A chance to stretch the gap awaits Vipers as they host Entebbe UPPC at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Sunday, with an opportunity to move seven points clear at the top of the Uganda Premier League.

The reverse fixture was tight, with Vipers winning 1-0 thanks to Karim Watambala’s second half goal. This time round hosts will know who they are really facing.

The timing works in their favour. KCCA FC slipped against Calvary in Midigo, staying on 51 points, while SC Villa and Kitara both won to join them on the same tally. But all three remain four points behind Vipers, who also have a game in hand. Now, the leaders can pull further away to 7 points.

Jacky Ivan Minnaert’s side know what is at stake. A win would strengthen their title push and widen the gap on chasing rivals.

Vipers welcome back Enock Ssebagala after a one match suspension, boosting their midfield options. However, Taddeo Lwanga is doubtful with injury, while Chukwuma Odili is also a concern due to illness.

Despite those doubts, the Venoms still carry enough strength to get the job done at home, where they have been hard to stop this season.

Entebbe UPPC, coached by Abdallah Mubiru, arrive with nothing to lose but plenty to prove.

Their hopes will largely depend on Ambrose Kigozi in attack, supported by Steven Mungunchi, Hassan Ssenyonjo, Abraham Tusubira and Laban Tibita.

UPPC are coming off a 1-0 loss at home to KCCA, the Printers sit sixth with 40 points and a win would lift them above Police, who lost to Maroons on Saturday.
