  • Express FC 0-2 BUL FC

Pascal Ngobi struck early in the second half before Innocent Rwothomiyo sealed it in style as BUL FC beat Express FC 2-0 on Friday night at the Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.

But the result was overshadowed by a worrying moment just before halftime.

Express midfielder Blanchar Mulamba collided with Hilary Onek in the 44th minute and went down with a head injury.

He was quickly attended to and taken to hospital by ambulance, bringing a brief pause and concern around the stadium.

The first half itself offered little in terms of clear chances, with both sides cautious and struggling to create.

After the break, BUL showed more intent. In the 64th minute, Ngobi broke the deadlock with a composed finish, continuing his habit of scoring against Express at Nakivubo.

Express pushed for a response and came close ten minutes later, but goalkeeper Yawe made an important save to keep BUL ahead.

Deep into stoppage time, Rwothomiyo put the game beyond reach. The substitute, who had come on for the injured Ibrahim Orit, met the moment with a superb bicycle kick that wrapped up the win.

The victory ends Express’s four-match unbeaten run and gives BUL their first win in five games. BUL stay eighth with 34 points, while Express remain 10th on 30.

Next, BUL host NEC FC, while Express travel to Mbarara City.

Elsewhere, NEC beat Mbarara City 1-0 at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, with shot stopper Hannington Sebwalunyo scoring the only goal while UPDF held URA to a goalless draw in Bombo.
