URA FC’s struggles on the road continued as they were held to a goalless draw by UPDF FC at Bombo Military Barracks on Thursday, in a game defined by missed chances.
URA should have taken an early lead in the 13th minute, but Bruno Bunyaga failed to convert a one on one, hitting straight at the goalkeeper.
The visitors kept pushing, yet their finishing let them down again when Derrick Kakooza headed over from close range with the goal open.
UPDF also had their moments, forcing Crispas Kusiima into action. The URA goalkeeper made two key one on one saves to keep his side in the game.
Late on, URA came closest to breaking the deadlock.
In the 83rd minute, substitute Moses Okabo Aliro rounded the goalkeeper, but his effort was cleared off the line.
The result leaves URA still without an away win this season. They remain 11th with 24 points, six behind Express FC. UPDF stay in the relegation zone with 21 points from 25 matches.
Next, URA will host Maroons FC on April 28, while UPDF visit Police FC the following day.
Matchday 25 continues with Express hosting BUL at Nakivubo and NEC facing Mbarara City at Lugogo.
