Nemostars Volleyball Club continued their strong start at the 47th CAVB Men’s Club Championship with a second straight Group A win, brushing aside Nigeria Customs 3-0 at the Petit Stade on Friday evening.

Coming off their opening victory over Petrojet, Nemostars showed calm and control in a match that was tighter than the scoreline suggests.

The first set was closely fought, with both sides trading points in a tense battle. 

Nigeria Customs stayed within reach, but Nemostars held their nerve late on, pulling away to a 24-20 lead before sealing the set 25-23.

In the second set, Nemostars stepped up early, racing to a 3-0 start and then stretching the gap to 16-9. 

Smith Okumu dictated play with smart setting that brought his attackers into rhythm. Nemostars closed it out 25-19.

The third set was one-way traffic. Nemostars dominated from the start, with Daudi Okello finally breaking through after being limited earlier, powering points to put the game beyond reach. 

Captain George Aporu also stood out, steadying the team and keeping them sharp throughout.

Nemostars now turn their focus to a tougher test against hosts APR.
